FORESTRY

FACT #1:  Nearly half of Oregon’s land base is forested.  The federal government owns 60% of the forests in Oregon, but only produces 15% of the commercial timber from those lands.

FACT #2:  On Oregon's federal lands, only about 9% of the annual timber growth is harvested each year -- resulting in a net 62% annual growth rate.
